Congratulations to the varsity girls’ cross country team for placing first in the Midstate Championship with a score of 45 points. Allison Cheeseman claimed the overall conference title. Teammates Samantha Wilson, Harris Slinkard, Allie Adams, Shelby Collins, Kaylor Murray and Jaclyn Helton added to the team scoring.
Varsity wrestling cheerleaders for the coming season are Grace Bishop, Claire Brandon, Daly Cantrell, Kaitlyn Cash, Sarah Clifton, Katie Evatt, Emily Gibbs, Paiton Ingram, Katy McBride, and Chandler Parks. The squad is coached by faculty member Elizabeth Walker.
Brentwood Academy will sponsor two sports camps during the Christmas holidays. A Pitching and Catching Camp camp will be held December 11 and 12. Seventh grade science classes visited Vanderbilt University’s Dyer Observatory for astronomy presentations given by the VU professors and Ph.D. candidates. The students saw demonstrations in the world renowned “Star Chamber” and in the Astronomy library. The visits to the Dyer Observatory were part of their study of astronomy.
