Congratulations to senior Thomas Lundborg who has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Arkansas State University.

 

The Brentwood Academy Math Department is now posting a “Math Problem of the Week” on the BA website and is happy to report the Problem of the Week website is up and running.  Students, parents and friends are challenged to solve each week’s problem.  The link is  http://www.brentwoodacademy.com/page.cfm?p=1598

 

AP Scholar Awards recognize high school students who have demonstrated college-level achievement through AP courses and exams.  In the Brentwood Academy class of 2008, 21 students achieved the title of AP Scholar.  Of those 21, four students were also recognized as AP Scholars with Honor and six students were recognized as AP Scholars of Distinction.

 

Congratulations to BA faculty member Barbara K. Stewart who received the Hubert Smothers Award at the recent Tennessee Association of Independent Schools conference in Nashville.  Mrs. Stewart, a 38 year member of the BA faculty, was recognized for her teaching ability, her involvement as National Honor Society and Youth in Government program sponsor, and for her impact on the lives of her students.  Mrs. Stewart chairs the history department.

 

The Student Leadership Team (SLT) is sponsoring our first Autumn blood drive to kick off the season of giving.  The blood drive will be in the small gym in the upper school on Tuesday, November 18.  It will begin at 7:00 AM and the last time slot to give blood will be at 12:45 PM.  Parents, friends and neighbors are invited to participate.
