The Brentwood Academy Singers, an auditioned ensemble of sixteen singers, each year record a professional quality CD featuring a variety of Christian, pop, country and a cappella songs. The students recorded at Dark Horse Studios in Franklin and will perform at the Loveless Barn on Tuesday, March 30, at 7:00 PM. Ticket information is available at www.brentwoodacademy.com.
Congratulations to the four members of the Brentwood Academy forensics team who have qualified for the National Tournament this June in Kansas City. Qualifiers included Laura Burgin in dramatic interpretation, Evan Ford in original oratory and Sarah Keaggy and Davis Denny in duo interpretation. The forensics team is coached by Joanna Franzke and Rian Hubbard.
At Career Day, upper school students had the opportunity to hear from 36 alumni and friends representing a wide variety of occupations. Keynote speaker for the day was Swannee Williams Sexton, a retired professor of business at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Sexton is a BA alumna.
Congratulations to eighth grader Rann Johnson, who will represent Brentwood Academy at the state level in the National Geography Bee on April 9.
Members of the Brentwood Academy choir participated in a benefit concert at Riverside Chapel in Nashville. The concert raised over $10,000 for earthquake relief in Haiti. Students Alyssa Bastien, Justin Anderson, Justina Jones, Lizzy Nichols, and Claire Pakis opened the concert singing “Hallelujah, Sing Praises To Thee.” The choir is directed by faculty member Gale Jones Murphy.
